Your personal trainer should care about improving ALL of your life for as LONG as you live.

Most people find Kurt after something gets their attention. A number at the doctor, an achy back, or watching someone they love slow down. And the first thing he tells them is this: it's not too late. It's actually a great time to start. The strength you build now shapes your next 20 years, and there are a lot of good ones ahead if you start getting stronger today.

Kurt has been coaching for nearly a decade. He graduated from the University of Minnesota with a Bachelor's Degree in Kinesiology, though his love of movement showed up long before that. His parents will tell you he was walking by 8 months old and rarely sat still afterward, always outside, playing baseball, and moving. A few years after graduating college he became a certified personal trainer through NASM and coached individuals and groups at a club in the north metro.

In March of 2020, right before the pandemic, Kurt turned a long held vision into Northern Strength. Since then he has helped countless people get stronger, move better, and add years to their lives. What he loves most is teaching people to lift safely and confidently, and watching them take real pride in their own growth.

Kurt met his wife, Kaelyn, at their church, and they've been married since 2019. Together they have three kids and stay plenty busy chasing them around and instilling into them the value of health and fitness. When he isn't coaching you'll find him with family and friends, working with his hands around the house and yard, or grilling meat whenever the weather allows, which, for a hearty Minnesotan, is just about all year.
